COMET
Anti-theft tracking system with dual-mode operation: silent evidence collection and active deterrence with incentivized recovery.
Core Capabilities
- Silent Tracking Mode — Covert evidence collection including location, photos, and usage patterns without alerting the thief.
- Active Recording Mode — Visible deterrence with continuous documentation and audible/visual alerts to discourage misuse.
- Crowdsourced short-range tracking — Nearby devices can detect and report stolen items, expanding recovery range.
- Incentivized recovery network — Reward system for citizens and businesses who help locate stolen property.
- Privacy-preserving architecture — Owner retains control; location data encrypted and accessible only with owner authorization.

Insurance & Incentives
COMET integrates with insurance providers and creates a community recovery network. When a device is reported stolen, nearby COMET-enabled devices can detect it via Bluetooth/WiFi signatures and report approximate locations.
Privacy Architecture
All tracking data is encrypted end-to-end. Only the registered owner can access location history and captured evidence. The system does not share location data with third parties unless explicitly authorized by the owner for recovery purposes.
Network detection works through anonymized signatures—participating devices don't receive any information about whose property they're detecting, only that a match exists in the recovery database.
